Atalanta are closing in on some left side depth, with the imminent signing of German Heracles Left Back Lennart Czyborra. In an eerily similar move that brought ex Heracles German Robin Gosens to La Dea, Czyborra should provide some nice depth for Gosens, and perhaps fill in should Gosens eventually be sold-off based on his current form (shudder!!!). While no official deal has been struck yet, the fee should be in the range of 3.5-4M Euros.
The 20 year old German came up through Schalke’s youth system, and had firmly established himself in Heracles’s rotation featuring in 19 matches to date.
After watching a few videos Czyborra is a pacey left back who puts good work in on both of offensive and defensive side of the ball. He seems extremely left-footed, and it’s impossible to not liken him to his compatriat and now teammate Robin Gosens. It will obviously take him some time to acclimate to Serie A, but I CANNOT wait to see the enthusiasm he brings to Atalanta’s squad.!
