The title says it all. Atalanta Youth prospect and Ivorian international Willy Ta Bi Branciano has unfortunately passed away at the age of 21 after an ultimately unsuccessful fight with liver cancer. A promising prospect in Zingonia, Ta Bi was purchased from ASEC Mimosas (The Ivory Coast’s most prestigious squad) in 2019, and looked destined to take up the helm of de Roon and Freuler eventually.
The second Atalanta youth player to pass away in the past year (sadly along with Andrea Rinaldi who passed away last May), we hope to remember Ta Bi for his passion and leadership. The video below displays the passion he had for football and life in general. Rest in peace Willy, you’ll always be an Atalantini.
